Do I need a piano or keyboard at home to start lessons?

Yes, a piano or digital keyboard would be required.

 

What is the best age for a child to start piano lessons?

As a general rule, 6-7 years old.

Can I drop off my child during their lesson?

No.  All students under the age of 18 must be accompanied at all times by a parent or adult guardian during in-person lessons and at-home visits, and be present during online classes.

Do you give group lessons?

No. All lessons are one-to-one.

Do you teach adult beginners?

Yes.

Do I need to know how to read music before starting?

No, reading music is not required.

 

What methods or piano books do you use?

I currently use the Essential Piano Repertoire series edited by Keith Snell to teach sight-reading.

 

What are your qualifications and teaching experience?

I’ve studied piano privately since age of seven, played for over 40 years, taught for the past 10 years, and have 10,000+ hours of teaching experience.
